MSPE WESTERN CHAPTER 2024 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
DUE: FEBRUARY 29, 2024
AMOUNT: Two $3,000 scholarships
DETAILS:

This scholarship is provided for graduating high school seniors who have a genuine interest in engineering and are preparing to attend an approved school of engineering.

Eligibility Requirements for Western Chapter Scholarship:

-       Be a high school senior

-       Be a citizen of the United States at the time of application

-       Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades

-       Have at least a minimum score on the American College Testing Program (ACT) test of 29 in Math and 25 in English. Equivalent minimum SAT scores of 950 in Math and 750 in English are also acceptable.

-       Must enroll in an engineering program that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET-EAC) at one of the following state institutions or a Pre-Engineering Program at a College or University that has a working agreement to transfer credits with one of the names schools listed below.

2024 PROJECT 21 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
DUE: MARCH 1, 2024
AMOUNT: One $2,500 scholarship and three $1,500 scholarships
DETAILS:

The Missouri Gaming Association is announcing the Project 21 2024 Scholarship Program. This will be the twenty-eighth year the scholarship campaign is conducted in Missouri. The goal of this scholarship program is to not only inform our youth that it is not permissible in Missouri for persons under the age of 21 to gamble in a casino, but to also educate them about the dangers and consequences with underage gambling.

Project 21 2024 Scholarship Program provides students with an opportunity to disseminate their message by writing an article or creating a poster or video addressing the issue of underage gambling.

EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Excellence in Education $1,000 Scholarship is open to all high school seniors who are in the Northland school districts, faith-based schools, or private institutions that are members of the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The deadline for applications to be turned into your school counselor is Friday, March 1, 2024.

HENRY W. BLOCH SCHOLARS PROGRAM MCC
DUE: MARCH 1, 2024
AMOUNT: Full tuition and fees each semester at MCC and at UMKC or Rockhurst
DETAILS:

Since 2001, the H&R Block Foundation and MCC have provided full tuition and fees for local students with a determination to succeed, regardless of their finances, test scores, or life circumstances. Since 2019, the program has expanded with the generous support of the Marion and Henry Bloch Family Foundation. The Henry W. Bloch program is designed to attract, encourage, and support promising students living in urban environments in Kansas City, who demonstrate financial need and who want to earn a four-year degree but would not be considered for traditional scholarship programs.

Eligibility:

-       Must complete the 2024-25 FAFSA and demonstrate financial need; nor be considered for traditional scholarships due to past academic performance or life circumstances.

-       Must plan to attend MCC with the intent to earn an Associate in Arts degree and then transfer to UMKC or Rockhurst University to earn a bachelor’s degree.

-       Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident living in Missouri in one of the following counties: Jackson, Clay, or Platte.

THE HAGAN SCHOLARSHIP
DUE: MARCH 1, 2024
AMOUNT: Up to $7,500 each semester
DETAILS:

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight consecutive semesters. Free workshops, free brokerage accounts, and free study abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum.

Eligibility:

-       Must graduate from a public, private, charter, magnet, or STEM high school

-       Must have achieved a 3.5 GPA

-       Must enroll in an eligible college or university the first semester following graduation

-       Must maintain a 4 year or less graduation schedule

-       Must work 240 hours prior to commencement of the fall semester in college

-       Applicants Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000

RYAN GRACE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DETAILS:

Ms. Ryan Grace was 3 years old when she was taken from us far too soon in a September 2017 auto accident. The Ryan Grace Memorial Scholarship seeks to assist a student(s) who has been affected by organ/tissue donation. This is a 4-year renewable scholarship.

UNICO KANSAS CITY SCHOLARSHIP
DUE: MARCH 4, 2024
AMOUNT: $3,000
DETAILS:

Each year the UNICO-Kansas City Chapter awards scholarships to metropolitan Kansas City area high school seniors. UNICO’s major 2024 scholarship is a one-time award totaling $3,000 to a graduate of Italian-American heritage who will be attending college next fall.

Completed scholarship applications must be postmarked by Monday, March 4, 2024, to be considered for selection. Please mail completed scholarship applications to:

MOACAC INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

AMOUNT: $1,000
DETAILS:

The MOACAC International Student Scholarship is specifically for non-US students living in Missouri who will graduate at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year and who will enroll in a MOACAC college or university for the Fall 2024 semester. (This includes undocumented students and/or international students studying in the United States on an educational VISA.)

The winner of this scholarship will be announced in April 2024.

ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF KANSAS CITY SCHOLARSHIP

DETAILS:

Assistance League of Kansas City (ALKC) is offering scholarships to academically promising high school seniors who have demonstratable financial need to attend college, university, or technical school.

Eligibility:

THE LINKS SCHOLARSHIP

DETAILS:

The Greater Kansas City (MO) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated seeks to recognize and reward academic excellence and promote and support students pursuing post-secondary education.

Criteria:

-       African American descent

-       Currently enrolled in a Kansas City metropolitan area high school

-       Graduating senior who has completed their first semester

-       Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 weighted scale

-       NOT related to a member of the Links organization

WOMEN LEGISLATORS OF MISSOURI SCHOLARSHIP

DETAILS:

Members of the Women Legislators of Missouri sponsor this scholarship program for young women graduating high school in Missouri. This is a one time $1,000 scholarship.

Applicants must be:

-       Female

-       Missouri resident

-       Current high school senior

-       Graduating from a public high school, private high school or home school in Missouri this year

GLADSTONE ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

DETAILS:

The Gladstone Rotary Club is offering scholarships for students planning to attend a postsecondary institution. One $1,000 scholarship is dedicated to a student that will attend a community college or technical training program.

-       Must be a current student at one of the following schools: North Kansas City High School, Oak Park, Staley, St. Pius X or Winnetonka

MEREDYTH SMITH SCHROEDER MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This is a one year, $1,000 scholarship for a student who “has exhibited an enthusiasm and passion for music and a desire to pursue an education and subsequently a career in any aspect of the field of music.”

Eligibility:

-       Participated in musical activities.

-       Plan to pursue an education and career in any aspect of the field of music.

AUTOMOTIVE DEALERS OF GREATER KANSAS CITY SCHOLARSHIP

The Automotive Dealers Association of Greater Kansas City Scholarship Fund has been established to provide assistance to students who are planning to pursue a degree in the automotive field.

Eligibility:

-       Must be a graduating senior from a high school in Johnson, Leavenworth or Wyandotte counties in Kansas, and Jackson, Cass, Clay or Platte counties in Missouri;

-       Must be planning to pursue a degree in the automotive field;

-       Must have a GPA of 2.75 or above;

-       Must have participated in community service and have worked during high school; and

-       Must provide one letter of reference with online application.

HONEYWELL BLACK ACHIEVERS SOCIETY ENGINEERING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

AMOUNT: $5,000
DETAILS:

Honeywell offers two $5,000 annual, renewable scholarships exclusively for African American students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.

Eligibility:

-       Cumulative GPA of 3.5 (unweighted)

-       African American student pursuing bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science (mechanical, industrial, electrical, chemical, aeronautical engineering or computer science)

-       Must be accepted at a 4-year ABET college or university (Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology, Inc.)

-       Special consideration will be given to students attending a Historically Black College or University

KANSAS CITY STEM GOES RED SCHOLARSHIP

DETAILS:

The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement with the support of the Wellsky Foundation and a generous anonymous donor is proud to offer the Kansas City STEM Goes Red Scholarship with the goal of bridging the gap between student interests in pursuing a career in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and achieving their goals.

Eligibility:

-       9th-12th grade student currently attending a school within 5 major counties of the Kansas City Metro (Jackson, Clay, Platte, Wyandotte, and Johnson)

-       Minimum 3.0 GPA

-       Female

-       U.S. Citizen/permanent resident of the U.S.

-       Attendance at a college or university with the intent to major in a STEM-related field OR attendance at a vocational or technical trade institution with a focus on earning a degree/certificate in a STEM-related field

NKC-NEA ELAINE NICK EDUCATOR SCHOLARSHIP

2024 BBB STUDENT OF INTEGRITY SCHOLARSHIP
DUE: APRIL 5, 2024
AMOUNT: Fifteen $2,000 scholarships
DETAILS:

Better Business Bureau of the Midwest Plains annually awards scholarships to graduating high school students who reside within our service area (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Dakota) and demonstrate character, leadership and ethical values.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must reside in our service area, which includes the following:

NKC BUSINESS COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIPS

DETAILS:

The North Kansas City Business Council is comprised of businessmen and women working together to stimulate commerce, enhance the quality of life and improve the business climate in the City of North Kansas City. To promote the pursuit of career-directed education after high school, the Business Council provides funds for scholarships each year. In 2024, three $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to deserving Seniors at North Kansas City High School.

Scholarships shall be awarded to students planning to enroll in college or skilled trade studies.

Eligibility:

-       Must be a senior at North Kansas City High School.

-       Must graduate in the Spring of 2024.

-       Will enroll in a two or four year college, university or accredited technical school.

GLADSTONE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP

AMOUNT: At least three $1,000 scholarships
DETAILS:

This scholarship was established for high school students who will graduate from the North Kansas City School District, Oakhill Day School, or St. Pius X High School.

Eligibility:

-       The applicant must be a graduating senior in the class of 2024.

-       The applicant must plan to pursue a post-secondary program of study at a two- or four-year institution or technical school.

-       The applicant must have maintained a 2.75 GPA or higher during his/her high school career.

-       When scoring this application, special emphasis is placed on community service, work experience and family financial needs.

NORTHLAND JC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
DUE: APRIL 14, 2024
AMOUNT: $500
DETAILS:

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide A+ students enrolled in, or entering, the Kansas City (Missouri) Metropolitan Community College system, in pursuit of a two or four-year college degree in a field related to Leadership, Management and/or Community Service, with funding for books required by the curriculum.

Criteria:

-       Have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above

-       Be enrolled with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester at a Kansas City Metropolitan Community College. Include a current transcript with application and semester renewal.

KIDS WITH COURAGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

DETAILS:

Education scholarships will be available for Kansas and Missouri students who battle Type 1 diabetes through the Kids With Courage Foundation for 2024.

Eligibility:

-       Have Type 1 diabetes

-       Be a graduating high school senior from a public or private school, a home schooled student or college student

-       Be committed to using education to better your life and that of your family/community

-       Reside in either Missouri or Kansas

-       Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident

-       Award can be used at any accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university, technical, or trade school in the United States

EMERGING SPORTS LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP

AMOUNT: $5,000
DETAILS:

This scholarship is available for all high school seniors with post-secondary plans at a university, college, trade, or vocational school. (Participation in collegiate soccer is not required.)

Eligibility:

-       High School Senior with post-secondary education plans at a university, college, trade, or vocational school.

-       2.5 GPA or higher

-       Students whose lives have been impacted by the sport of soccer

-       Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to community service

CLAY PLATTE MAESP SCHOLARSHIP

DETAILS:

The Clay Platte Region of the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior interested in pursuing a career in elementary education.

Eligibility:

-       Student must attend one of the following school districts: Excelsior Springs, Kearney, Liberty, North Kansas City, Park Hill, Platte County, Smithville, or West Platte.

-       Student must continue to attend classes and keep a 2.5 GPA (or equivalent).

-       Student applying must be focusing on a career in Elementary Education.
